It is all about cosiness at residential care centre Avondrust

It is all about cosiness in the new building project of Avondrust residential care centre. A rustic setting in Varsenare, in the heart of a nature reserve, is the location of this new building of the residential care centre where everything revolves around creating a homely atmosphere.

The realisation of this project was placed in the hands of the creative minds of Studio M. This light-filled building was brightened up even more with soft and comfortable furniture in a variety of colours. Various living spaces for fourteen people were created with large wooden tables and comfy chairs. A lot of Moments furniture can also be found in the bedrooms: bedside nightstands, beds, chairs, tables and also specialized care furniture, such as the INO care relax. And, in good weather, the residents can also enjoy the sun on the specially adapted terrace.

With the ‘small-scale normalised living’ project, the residential care centre is seeking to encourage residents out of their rooms to live as they used to at home. With this in mind, Studio M designed a brasserie that has wide walkways, yet is also pleasant to attract non-residents to come for a coffee as well. The long green sofa and various round and square tables are arranged in a way that makes them accessible for wheelchair users too. The furniture and decor therefore reinforce interaction between residents and the outside world.
